ABOUT MY WORK

The focus of my persistent investigation centers on exploring whether the texture of inanimate objects could evoke a sense of feeling. I chose this theme because one of my favorite artists, Russel Mills, who makes album covers for Nine Inch Nails, takes very interesting photos that have to match the feeling of the album. His photos usually evoke a sense of hurt or decay because he has to match the feeling of the music. In my image “9” the photo highlights the inherent interest within an otherwise overlooked element “Texture.” The image relates to my theme by evoking a feeling of loss and isolationism. My art is heavily influenced by music and feeling, my portfolio shows how the texture of inanimate objects can evoke a feeling. My photos relate to my viewers and show them a sense of what they might have suffered from in their life.
